Equality

Equality is a principle of justice, which stipulates that different entities / people should receive equal treatment, equal resources, equal rights etc.
In contrast, equity is a principle of justice, which stipulates that different entities / people should receive different benefits to the effect that they have the same changes and opportunities.
These different principles are well illustrated in figure 1
