CIVITAS Learning Centre launches UVAR e-course

The CIVITAS Learning Centre has recently launched a brand new e-course dedicated to Urban Vehicle Access Regulations’ principles and practices.

Participants in the e-course – available here, will learn key approaches to implementing Urban Vehicle Access Regulations (UVARs) in cities. UVARs, also known as traffic restriction/regulation schemes or traffic bans and better known as separate types of schemes, such as low emission zones or limited traffic zones, are a quintessential part of the ReVeAL project.

Focusing on UVARs and their use allows decision-makers and mobility planners to successfully increase the attractiveness and sustainability of cities.

The course Urban Vehicle Access Regulations (UVARs) – principles and practices” will help participants to learn how to achieve local policy ambitions more efficiently and effectively through UVARs and their application to:

  • reduce the negative aspects of transport,
  • increase sustainable mobility with a focus on active modes,
  • increase liveability; making the city a more attractive place to live, work, visit and spend time in.

In particular, participants will learn more about:

  • UVAR types and their relevance,
  • real-life examples of UVAR applications,
  • tools to develop a personalised UVAR strategy.

CIVITAS ELEVATE… knowledge

The CIVITAS e-courses and training sessions have been developed by DTV Consultants as part of the CIVITAS ELEVATE Coordination and Support Action funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 824228 and by the former CIVITAS Support action CIVITAS CAPITAL.

CIVITAS ELEVATE aims to expand (future) mobility professionals’ capacities in making urban mobility more sustainable and smarter and uses our project’s outcomes, as well as our partners’ know-how, to feed this e-course.
