Every winter, a special winter low emission zone comes into place in the Italian Region of Piemonte (Piedmont).
This year, the winter LEZ is divided in two parts:
- From October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020
- From January 1, 2021 to March 31, 2021

- Low Emission Zone in Turin

- Low Emission Zone in Asti

- Low Emission Zone in Chieri
In the first part, diesel vehicles needed to meet Euro 4 standard, whereas in the second part the Euro standard for diesel vehicles has been tightened to Euro 5.
In the following years, diesel vehicles will have to meet Euro 5 directly from October 1 and all the way to March 31 of the following year, until March 2026 and with eventual tightenings on the way.
